I Will Declare Your Greatness

VERSE OF THE DAY: ~ Psalm 145:4-7 “One generation shall praise Your works to another, And shall declare Your mighty acts. I will meditate on the glorious splendor of Your majesty, And on Your wondrous works. Men shall speak of the might of Your awesome acts And I will declare Your greatness. They shall utter the memory of Your great goodness, And shall sing of Your righteousness.”

David the writer of this Psalm was a man of many victories. Perhaps in this text, we can find one of the keys to David’s life of victory. David was a man who was not ashamed to tell of the great things that God had done through his life. When Goliath taunted the armies of Israel, David stood and declared how he had slain the lion and how he had killed a bear when they tried to eat from his father’s flock. Then he looked at King Saul and said the same God who delivered the lion and the bear into my hand will also deliver this Philistine! There are some today, a few, who may try to make believers fear that if they declare the good works of the Lord, they may be crossing some line of political incorrectness.  We cannot afford to allow the enemy, for any reason to rob us of the power that we find in the declaration of the victories that our Lord has brought for us.

Each of us has a choice today, we can choose to meditate upon those things that are going wrong, to think and ponder on those areas of our lives that appear to be wanting or in lack. Or we can choose to meditate on the victories that God has brought us in our life, and let the truth of God’s word dictate our current thoughts and actions. David declared in this Psalm; “I will meditate on the glorious splendor of your Majesty and on your wondrous works.” those words “I will” are words that indicate choice. David says I choose to meditate on the good things that the Lord has done and is doing. I will speak of your great goodness and I will sing of your righteousness. But there’s something else I’d like to call attention to in verse four. It is that the greatest inheritance we can impart to our children and to the future generations is the testimony of the goodness of God. Let one generation, praise your works and declare your mighty acts to the next!

PRAYER: “Lord, I ask that you make today a new beginning let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be acceptable in your sight oh God. Let the declarations of my mouth give praise to the glorious works that you do, my Lord. Let the focus of my memories be on the good things of God, let the testimony of my life be a declaration that I am a servant of the living God who cares for and loves His people. Amen

VERSE FOR FEARLESS LIVING!  ~   Deuteronomy 7:18-19 “you shall not be afraid of them, but you shall remember well what the Lord your God did to Pharaoh and to all Egypt:  the great trials which your eyes saw, the signs and the wonders, the mighty hand and the outstretched arm, by which the Lord your God brought you out. So shall the Lord your God do to all the peoples of whom you are afraid.
