Set Your Heart To Understand

VERSE OF THE DAY: ~ Daniel 10:12-14 Then he said to me, “Do not fear, Daniel, for from the first day that you set your heart to understand, and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard; and I have come because of your words. But the prince of the kingdom of Persia withstood me twenty-one days; and behold, Michael, one of the chief princes, came to help me, for I had been left alone there with the kings of Persia. Now I have come to make you understand what will happen to your people in the latter days, for the vision refers to many days yet to come.”

                        · Heavenly visions can be fearsome! In most Biblical accounts of angelic visitation the angelic being starts off with the words “Do not be afraid”.

                        · Daniel “set his heart” to understand truth. If we could be honest, how many of us either never set out in pursuit of God’s truth, or we set out to prove what we want to believe for whatever reason.

                        · The ability to receive truth requires humility. We can no longer afford to be prideful especially to the extent that we remain loyal to a belief or denominational stronghold that hinders the advancement of God’s kingdom for our generation. Note that His kingdom will increase and advance with or without mans approval or agreement, the question is whether or not we(I) will partner with God for the advancement of His kingdom through us(me) for our(this) generation.

                        · There is a battle being fought in the spiritual realm. This battle effects what occurs in the physical realm. The angel was engaged in battle with the prince of Persia(territorial), both were spiritual entities, one of them was a messenger from God the other was in opposition to God’s messenger.

                        · If we honestly and humbly set our hearts toward understanding truth we will find and grow in truth. If the angel had to fight for 21 days to bring truth and understanding to a man who sacrificed in fasting and prayer, why do so many today think that truth will come to them from little or no effort on their part? There is an enemy who is actively opposing the truth from getting into you!

PRAYER: “Father today I come to You in Jesus’ name thanking You for all of Your goodness towards me. Holy Spirit, I ask You that You lead me into all truth and do not allow me do divert from the truth of God’s word and kingdom. Grant me a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of You and as I read Your word open my understanding so that I can more intimately know Your mind and heart. Help Your church in these hours to walk uprightly in Your love and power as we actively bring Your kingdom to the world! Amen!

VERSE FOR FEARLESS LIVING!  ~ Revelation 1:17-19 “And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last.  I am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of Hades and of Death.  Write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will take place after this.”
