My Christian Heritage

VERSE OF THE DAY: Isaiah 54:17 ~ No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and every tongue which rises against you in judgment, you shall condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their righteousness is from Me,” Says the Lord.
Sooo…, does that mean we’re invincible? Not exactly. But this is still an incredible prophetic word for you and I to hold on to, and here’s why. First, let’s look at the context then we’ll focus on some details. In context, let’s consider who it is that God makes this promise to. God introduces Himself with several titles earlier in this chapter. In verse five He says “your Maker” is your husband, The LORD of Hosts is His name; and your Redeemer is the Holy One of Israel, He is called the God of the whole earth. Let’s break that down, shall we?
He is your Maker meaning that you are carefully and wonderfully made (Psalm 139:14). Your husband, signifies the covenant we have entered into, a covenant that cannot be easily broken! Jehovah Tzva’ot “The LORD of Hosts” is His name, meaning He is the commander of Angel armies! He is your Redeemer. The one who is “born” of the Spirit knows they were once owned by darkness and they have experienced the peace and freedom that can only come through the redeeming blood of Christ. Christ has paid for our sins in full and now we have been made the righteousness of God in Christ. The holy one of Israel, He is called the God of the whole Earth. Not the little “g” god of the age or of this world. But He is the great “I AM” the one and only living God.
Now that we understand who is making this promise let’s look at the promise itself. “No weapon formed against you shall prosper” Prosper? What an interesting choice of word. We see this word used in both the preceding chapter and the chapter that follows. In Isa. 53:10 “…When You make His soul an offering for sin,
He shall see His seed, He shall prolong His days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall “prosper” in His hand.” (Our redeemer) And Isa. Chapter 55:11 “So shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth; it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall “prosper” in the thing for which I sent it. So you can see that this puts us, as believers, in a very unique position. We are redeemed through the finished work of the cross. God has spoken and His word will prosper in what He sends it forth to accomplish. But no weapon the enemy forms against the believer in Christ shall succeed in it’s task! And every tongue that rises against you…. You shall condemn! Notice it is you who shall do this second part not God but you, because your righteousness is from Him!
PRAYER/DECLARATIONS: ~ I thank You Father that through Jesus’ blood I have been made righteous. Not by my own works or attempts but through faith in His name. You have called me into Your covenant of peace meaning I am made whole and complete through the redemption You have provided for me. I declare that You are my God, You are the Lord of Hosts who command the angel armies. And Because of these things the weaponry of the enemy shall not succeed in what he intends. But Your word Father is alive and powerfully working in me to accomplish Your purposes in and through my life. Amen”
VERSE FOR FEARLESS LIVING! ~ Psalm 56:4 “In God (I will praise His word), In God I have put my trust; I will not fear. What can flesh do to me?”
