    Forum Description

VERSE OF THE DAY:  ~Isaiah 26:1-4 "In that day this song will be sung in the land of Judah: “We have a strong city; God will appoint salvation for walls and bulwarks. Open the gates, That the righteous nation which keeps the truth may enter in. You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, For in YAH, the Lord, is everlasting strength."

The walls and bulwarks of the city are it's protecting walls, the strong tower or fortress that protects it from intruding forces. In this case God says His people will sing that His salvation is the protection of their city. Also only those who walk in the truth will be able to enter it's gates. Didn’t Jesus say He is the truth and the gate? Jesus, the Prince of Peace, is the salvation of the Lord! But what is the perfect peace that God's people are singing of in this prophecy?

The words in this prophetic song "perfect" and "peace" are referring to the "shalom" of God. The original language actually reads "You shall keep him in shalom shalom, (yes the same word twice) whose mind is stayed on You". The word means completeness, soundness, perfect, whole or peace. But what is the key to finding this peace? It is an intentional and purposeful setting of the mind to fix your attention upon God, upon trusting in Him and His word. This can only be cultivated through an ongoing relationship with God. By spending regular time in His presence and acknowledging every good thing that is in you through Jesus Christ.  This scripture seems to me to be talking on two levels, both the personal and the national states of consciousness of and upon God is where the strength and salvation of the Lord are found and sustained.

PRAYER: "Father I ask in Jesus name that You transform and renew my mind Help me to fill my thoughts with You and Your word. I ask that You lead me into Your perfect peace and strength for my life, as I meditate upon Your word and increase my relationship with You. Amen."

VERSE FOR FEARLESS LIVING!  ~ Micah 4:3-5  "He shall judge between many peoples, And rebuke strong nations afar off; They shall beat their swords into plowshares, And their spears into pruning hooks; Nation shall not lift up sword against nation, Neither shall they learn war anymore. But everyone shall sit under his vine and under his fig tree, And no one shall make them afraid; For the mouth of the Lord of hosts has spoken. For all people walk each in the name of his god, But we will walk in the name of the Lord our God Forever and ever."
