Meditate On These Things

VERSE OF THE DAY: ~Philippians 4:4-8 “Rejoice in the Lord always. Again I will say, rejoice! Let your gentleness be known to all men. The Lord is at hand. Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication, with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God; and the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus. Finally, brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.”
We can benefit from practicing the guidelines for effective prayer found in this passage of scripture. Rejoice in the Lord for His kingdom is here. There is a calmness or gentleness that comes naturally when we have confidence in His presence and our identity as sons/daughters of the Most High God. Our Father is the creator of the universe and His thoughts toward us are always good. We can let our anxiety be dissolved in His presence as we talk with Him about everything on our mind both the good and the challenges. Thank Him that whatever we face in our world it does not change His love for us nor does it change our identity as children of God. If we have sin in our hearts then we can repent(turn away from) quickly and walk in the favor of His forgiveness and in His grace that empowers us to walk free from sin.(Romans6)
We can bring our every thought into captivity under the light of God’s word and let our request be known to Him who cares for us. Release your heart to God and the peace you will find in His presence will keep your hearts and minds. Biblical meditation is to fill your mind with something. It is opposite to mystical meditation where a person empties the mind and opens themselves to the influence of darkness or to spirit guides of deception. Fill your mind with the things of God’s goodness such as virtue, love, praise, truth and the good testimonies of His faithfulness and you will soon see transformation.
PRAYER: “Thank You Father that I can come to You with whatever is on my mind or heart. Whether it is good or bad You want to be involved in my life and to be a part of whatever I experience. Your goodness and faithfulness amaze me and I release Your presence and power into all my life situations. Father You are my healer, You are my redeemer, You are my deliverer, my provider, my creator and You are the source of my peace, safety and hope. I love You Father and I thank You for a transformed life in Your name. Amen”
VERSE FOR FEARLESS LIVING! ~Isaiah 31:4 “For thus the Lord has spoken to me: “As a lion roars, And a young lion over his prey (When a multitude of shepherds is summoned against him, He will not be afraid of their voice Nor be disturbed by their noise), So the Lord of hosts will come down To fight for Mount Zion and for its hill.”
