If a Son Asks For Bread

VERSE OF THE DAY: ~ Luke 11:11-13 “If a son asks for bread from any father among you, will he give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will he give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will he offer him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him!”
We have a great promise that we can stand upon here. Jesus compares those who desire to be good fathers with our Heavenly Father in regard to answered prayer. God the Father is good all the time and please don’t take that for cliché. If you are seeking for God to fill you with the Holy Spirit and power from on high then you can rest assured that God will not allow you to be filled with any other spirit. You can always have confidence in God’s word the Holy Bible and in this verse Jesus Himself tells us that if we are seeking God for the Holy Spirit then that is what we will get. But don’t quit seeking asking and knocking.
It is my belief that God wants to give His people every Spiritual gift and blessing that we need to advance His kingdom. Listen to Jesus in Luke 12:32 “Do not fear, little flock, for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.” Scripture encourages us to seek Spiritual gifts including Holy Spirit baptism. The apostles in Acts were filled with the Holy Spirit on more than one occasion so please do not listen to unbelieving or misled people that think this is a thing of the past. There is no end to the unsearchable riches of His kingdom. God wants us to be enabled, equipped and empowered to spread His gospel to the world. We can all seek more of Him!
PRAYER: “God I ask You in Jesus’ mighty name to fill me with Your Holy Spirit fresh and new, empower me to further the gospel of Your kingdom to the lost of this world. I receive You Holy Spirit and welcome You to fill me to overflowing with Your power and grace so that I can become a vessel of God’s love and light in the darkness of this generation. In Jesus name amen.”
VERSE FOR FEARLESS LIVING! ~ Revelation 1:17 “And when I saw Him, I fell at His feet as dead. But He laid His right hand on me, saying to me, “Do not be afraid; I am the First and the Last.”
