Look Upon Zion

VERSE OF THE DAY: ~Isaiah 33:20-24 ~ Look upon Zion, the city of our appointed feasts; Your eyes will see Jerusalem, a quiet home, A tabernacle that will not be taken down; Not one of its stakes will ever be removed, Nor will any of its cords be broken. But there the majestic Lord will be for us a place of broad rivers and streams, in which no galley with oars will sail, nor majestic ships pass by (For the Lord is our Judge, The Lord is our Lawgiver, The Lord is our King; He will save us); Your tackle is loosed, They could not strengthen their mast, They could not spread the sail. Then the prey of great plunder is divided; The lame take the prey. And the inhabitant will not say, “I am sick”; The people who dwell in it will be forgiven their iniquity.
This verse signifies the day that our righteous and just God will ultimately overthrow the enemies of His kingdom! We can find great encouragement in these words, God will and does show justice. Even when it’s not on our timetable. There are seven things about our Lord, that I wish to call to attention from today’s text:
• The Lord God is our righteous judge. Yes, this is bad news for those who choose not to walk in God’s way. But it’s great news for those who do walk in the righteousness and holiness that Christ allows for us by his grace. The righteous will be rewarded and those who choose to reject God will be done away.
• God is our lawgiver. This is more than the imposition of rules, the laws of God are the keys by which we unlock his multiple blessings and they are principles that bring order to the universe.
• The Lord is our King. His kingdom is righteousness, peace and joy in the Holy Spirit(Ro.14:17)and of the increase of His kingdom there shall be no end!
• The Lord is our Savior. He has delivered us from the bonds of darkness and the strongholds of sin. The salvation of the Lord brings us a victorious life now as well as for eternity after death of our physical bodies.
• The Lord is restorer of what has been plundered, even those who were lame take the spoil!
• He is our healer! The inhabitants of His kingdom will not say I am sick.
• The Lord forgives! Those who dwell in his kingdom are forgiven of all their iniquities.
PRAYER: “Thank you, Lord for all the goodness you have shown us, thank you for these promises that we can hold onto. I thank you for forgiving me. I thank you for healing me. I thank you for your restoration in my life. I thank you for saving me, I thank you because you are my God and the King of the never-ending kingdom. I thank you for your law to give me direction. Hope and promises and I thank you for your righteous judgment because you are always just and you reward the good and evil. Thank you for your faithfulness. Amen”
VERSE FOR FEARLESS LIVING! ~ Zechariah 8:15 So again in these days I am determined to do good To Jerusalem and to the house of Judah. Do not fear.
