How Do I Know if It’s God’s Will to Heal Someone?

God is always willing to heal. If you will allow yourself to receive, the scriptures will scream out to you that it is always and emphatically the will of God, our loving Father, to see you and others healed! Sadly, we have all experienced with varying degrees, the disappointment of losing a battle with healing. I have suffered great losses, even to the point of seeing death rob the world of a valuable life before it’s time. I have also experienced great victories when victims of cancer, stroke, arthritis, paralysis, blindness, deafness, diabetes, hypertension, kidney stones, liver disease, and even muscular dystrophy have been miraculously reversed and healed.
Whether we have won or lost each individual bout, the Bible teaches us it is as much God’s will for every person to be healed as it is for all to find salvation!
In Acts 17:10-13, the Bereans already had an idea of what the scriptures said concerning the coming of the Christ. When they were confronted with the gospel, these “fair minded” Bereans “searched the scriptures.” Was it to prove their position, to find from the ancient scrolls some way to prove what they and their circle of ‘buddies’ had already been taught? No. The thing I admire the most about the Bereans is that they searched the scriptures not to prove themselves to be right, but rather to find the truth!
Here are some scriptures to search out for truth:
Genesis 1:27-28 So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Then God blessed them, and God said to them, “Be fruitful and multiply; fill the earth and subdue it; have dominion ….”
How to search this out:
Whose image did God create man in?
Do you believe that God is in any way sickly or diseased?
Was man originally blessed or cursed?
Is sickness or disease in which of these two categories?
Hebrews 2:6-8 But one testified in a certain place, saying: “What is man that You are mindful of him, or the son of man that You take care of him? You have made him a little lower than the angels; You have crowned him with glory and honor, and set him over the works of Your hands. You have put all things in subjection under his feet.” For in that He put all in subjection under him, He left nothing that is not put under him. But now we do not yet see all things put under him.
1 Corinthians 6:20 For you were bought at a price; therefore, glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s.
How to search these out:
Ask yourself: What do I believe about sickness or disease bringing glory to God?
The literal context of this verse is in relation to the body of a believer being the temple of Holy Spirit and therefore, not for sexual immorality. Other than sexual purity, what ways can our bodies glorify God?
2 Peter 1:3 as His divine power has given to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him who called us by glory and virtue
Colossians 1:27-28 To them God willed to make known what are the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles: which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. Him we preach, warning every man and teaching every man in all wisdom, that we may present every man perfect in Christ Jesus.
3 John 2 Beloved, I pray that you may prosper in all things and be in health, just as your soul prospers.
Ephesians 2:10 For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works…”
The Truth from these scriptures reveal that…
God heals, because it is His will for you to be healthy and reflect His glory!
Prayer~ Lord, I know from the filter of the scriptures and through the understanding revealed to me by Your Holy Spirit that You are always good, that You love me, that it is Your nature to heal, and that You are moved with compassion. I set my mind to glorify You in every word I speak and in every action I take. I intentionally purpose to glorify You to others, knowing that it is Christ in me that is the hope of glory for others. Thank You Lord for Your goodness and faithfulness! –Amen.
[…] is so much more than an issue of where we go when we die. Salvation is a way of life in which God reveals Himself as being a healer, restorer, and the one who sustains His people by providing for our each and every need. As well, […]
