Twelve Things God Does

VERSE OF THE DAY: Exodus 3:7-10 “And the Lord said: “I have surely seen the oppression of My people who are in Egypt, and have heard their cry because of their taskmasters, for I know their sorrows.  So I have come down to deliver them out of the hand of the Egyptians, and to bring them up from that land to a good and large land, to a land flowing with milk and honey, to the place of the Canaanites and the Hittites and the Amorites and the Perizzites and the Hivites and the Jebusites.  Now therefore, behold, the cry of the children of Israel has come to Me, and I have also seen the oppression with which the Egyptians oppress them. Come now, therefore, and I will send you to Pharaoh that you may bring My people, the children of Israel, out of Egypt.”

Here is a real basic breakdown of some attributes of God from this text:

            1. God Speaks – Throughout chapter 3 God and Moses are in a running dialogue.

            2. God Sees – God says “I have seen the oppression of My People”

            3. God Hears – He heard the Israelites cry because of the Egyptian’s cruelty

            4. God Knows – God identifies with knowing the sorrow of His people

            5. God Comes Down – God came down and met with Moses

            6. God Brings Up – God desires to bring His people up from their oppression

            7. God Sends – God sends Moses and Aaron to bring His message of deliverance to Israel and Pharoah

            8. God Delivers – God tells Moses of His plan to deliver His people

            9. God Promises – to bring His people out of bondage

            10. God Leads  – God imparts His desire to lead His people to better things

            11. God Blesses- God speaks of the goodness and plenty that is in the land He plans to lead His people into

            12. God Brings Justice – God has seen the affliction and plans to reward Israel we see later in the book that God also brought plagues on Egypt because they would not obey Him and turn from their oppressive ways.

PRAYER: “Thank You Lord for hearing from heaven and for Your good thoughts toward Your people. You have brought us into Your kingdom and restored Your people to sonship, You have delivered us from the oppression of sin and darkness and You are leading us into Your promises day by day. Thank You lord for loving me! Amen”

VERSE FOR FEARLESS LIVING!  ~  Isaiah 37:6 “And Isaiah said to them, “Thus you shall say to your master, ‘Thus says the Lord: “Do not be afraid of the words which you have heard, with which the servants of the king of Assyria have blasphemed Me.”
