You Shall Bring Water Out Of The Rock!

VERSE OF THE DAY: Numbers 20:6-11 ~ “So Moses and Aaron went from the presence of the assembly to the door of the tabernacle of meeting, and they fell on their faces. And the glory of the Lord appeared to them. Then the Lord spoke to Moses, saying, “Take the rod; you and your brother Aaron gather the congregation together. Speak to the rock before their eyes, and it will yield its water; thus you shall bring water for them out of the rock, and give drink to the congregation and their animals.” So Moses took the rod from before the Lord as He commanded him. And Moses and Aaron gathered the assembly together before the rock; and he said to them, “Hear now, you rebels! Must we bring water for you out of this rock?” Then Moses lifted his hand and struck the rock twice with his rod; and water came out abundantly, and the congregation and their animals drank.”
How amazing is our God! This verse is a testimony of God’s creative, miracle working power! Although Moses didn’t exactly obey, God said speak to the rock and Moses struck it with his rod. Moses was denied access to the promised land but God still honored the need of His people and brought forth water from the rock! God is a God of abundance. His creative abilities have not been lost with time. He is still the God who spoke the words “let there be” and the world was formed. He is still the God who spoke the sun, the moon and the stars into the heavens. By His words the seas were separated from dry land the mountains were formed, and every living being was created. He is the God who turned a few loaves and fish into a feast for 5000 men, and all of His abundance is here today for you and I.
Let us no longer make the mistake of believing that we live in a world of lack or little. For there is a vast difference between what we see and what God can do. The question is not a matter of what we don’t have, but rather of what God can do with what we do have. This is not an extremist, prosperity doctrine which promotes ‘foolish’ faith or a lack of responsibility in being good stewards with what God blesses and provides for us. This is simply a statement of faith that God is a God of abundance and He wants to bless and provide for His people. So if you are a believer in Jesus Christ and have received by faith, the gospel of His kingdom then you now live under kingdom rule, the rule of a supernatural life, were plenty is the order of the day.
PRAYER: “Lord, I ask You to show me how to make better use of those things that You’ve already blessed me with. I thank You for all the goodness You have shown me. I believe that You created the heavens, the earth and that you blessed them with abundance. Help me to remember Lord of Your supernatural power and ability to increase and multiply even the simplest of things. Help me to see, not as the world sees out of lack or poverty or scarcity, but rather to trust in Your provision, knowing that Your creative abilities are a deep well that never runs dry. In Jesus name amen.”
