You Shall Be A Blessing

VERSE OF THE DAY: Genesis 12:1-3 ~ Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you. I will make you a great nation; I will bless you and make your name great; And you shall be a blessing. I will bless those who bless you, And I will curse him who curses you; And in you all the families of the earth shall be blessed.”
Acts 3:24-26 ~Yes, and all the prophets, from Samuel and those who follow, as many as have spoken, have also foretold these days. You are sons of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying to Abraham, ‘And in your seed all the families of the earth shall be blessed.’ To you first, God, having raised up His Servant Jesus, sent Him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from your iniquities.”
The promises of God are not bound by the limits of time. 2000 years elapsed between the time God made this promise to Abraham and the birth of Jesus Christ. 2000 more years have passed since the birth of Jesus Christ, and this promise is still being fulfilled through you and I who believe in Jesus Christ and are called according to his purpose! Several New Testament verses tell us that we who believe in Jesus Christ are a holy nation, citizens of heaven and ambassadors of the kingdom of God. We have been blessed so that we can carry the blessing to the nations of the world. The whole world can be blessed by you, since you have Christ in you.
Romans chapter 4 tells us that the promise to Abraham is also for all the seed of Christ. This promise is accessed through faith in Christ we cannot earn God’s gift or it would be a wage and not a gift. The gift of salvation may be about our eternal destiny, we know this to be true by faith. But, the salvation package comes with many promises of a blessed life here and now! This is great news! Jesus purchased for us who will receive by faith, freedom from the destructive forces of darkness in this world and for eternity. He has conveyed us into His kingdom of light, life and love. We now have the ability to access by faith, a life of health, freedom, abundance, authority over darkness and the list of blessings goes on with what the Bible calls unsearchable riches of Christs glory and wisdom. But remember our verse for today tells us that we are blessed so that the world can be blessed through us
PRAYER: “Thank you Lord for the promise you gave to Abraham. Thank you because that promise is still working in those of us who believe today. Help me to be a blessing to those around me and help me to recognize your blessings in my life. Freely I have received Your many blessings so help me to freely give. Amen”
